About Himachal Pradesh:-
Himachal Pradesh also known as “Dev Bhoomi”- ‘Lands of Gods’ or “Veer Bhoomi”- ‘Land of Braves’ and Himachal name came from a Sanskrit word “Hima” means snow. Himachal Pradesh as a State was formed on 25 January, 1971. It is 21 largest State in India in terms of population , with total population of 68,64,602 and Rural population of the State is 61,67,082 and Urban Population of 6,88,520. The State has the Total Male Population of 34,81,873 and the total Female Population of 33,82,729 with the Sex-Ratio of 972 Females per 1000 Males. Himachal Pradesh has the Density of 123 per Sq. km and the Literacy Rate of 82.80% (DATA ACCORDING TO THE CENSUS 2011).

Himachal Pradesh situated in Northern part of India and the Western Part of Himalaya. Himachal Pradesh is 17th Largest State in terms of Lands with the Total Area of 55,673 sq. km. Himachal Pradesh shares its borders with a country China and with the other states like, Uttarakhand, Haryana, Punjab, Jammu Kashmir and Ladakh. It has total of 12 Districts. The Highest Peak in The State is the “Shilla Peak” with the height of 7025 metres. It has Four Physiographic Divisions, which are:-
- The Outer Himalaya also known as “Shivaliks”.
- The Lesser Himalaya also known as “Central Zone.”
- The Great Himalayas also known as “Northern Zone.”
- And The Last one is “Zanskar Range.”
