About Telangana:-

Telangana, name derives from the name “Trilinga Desa” from the legends which says “Lord Shiva” descends in lingam form from the three mountains and one of them is Telangana. “Golconda Fort” is also situated in Telangana near Hyderabad that had a precious mine, which gives many precious gems. This state is formed in recent times on the date of 2 June, 2014 by separating from Andhra Pradesh.

Telangana is 12th largest state in India in terms of population with the total population of 3,50,04,000. The state has the Rural Population 2,13,95,000 and Urban Population of 1,36,09,000 with the Total Density of 312 Sq. km. It has the Male population of 1,76,12,000 and the Female Population of 1,73,92,000 with the Sex Ratio of 988 Females per 1000 Males. The state has total of 33 Districts with the Literacy Rate of 66.54%. (DATA ACCORDING TO CENSUS 2011)

Geography of Telangana:-

Telangana, is situated in the Southern Part of India as 29th State. This state is landlocked by other states and didn’t have any coastline. The state is 12th largest State in India in terms of Land area with the total area of 1,12,077 Sq. km. The state shares its border with many states like, Karnataka, Maharashtra, Chhattisgarh, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha.

The state is divided in four agricultural region: i) Central Telangana Zone, (ii) Northern Telangana Zone, (iii) Southern Telangana Zone (iv) High Altitude and Tribal Zone. The state has the average elevation of 256 m (840ft), with lowest point at 0 m (0ft) and highest point at 965 m (3,166 ft), Doli Gutta is highest point in the state with the height of 965 m. The highest waterfall in the state is “Kuntala Waterfall” in Adilabad District.
