About Goa:-

 Goa is the India’s smallest State and Goa also has the highest per capita income in India. Goa get his independence from Portugal on 19 December, 1961 with Daman and Diu but on 30 May, 1987 Goa got his statehood while Daman and Diu became separate Union Territory. It has the total population of 14,58,545 with Urban Population of 9,06,777 and Rural Population of 5,51,768 with Density of 394 Sq. km. It has the Male Population of 7,39,140 and the Female Population of 7,19,405 with the Sex ratio of 973 Females per 1000 Males. Goa has the Literacy rate of 88.70% (DATA ACCORDING TO CENSUS 2011)

Goa is the smallest State in India with the Area of 3702 Sq. km and only “Two Districts.” Goa is a Part of the Coastal Country known as Konkan. It is separated from the Deccan Plateau through the Western Ghat range of mountains.  Goa can be divided into three distinct sub-regions, namely the coastal plains, comprising the talukas of Tiswadi, Bardez, Salcete and Mormugao which cover about 22 per cent of the total geographical area; the intermediate or transitional sub-mountainous region with undulating uplands, covering about 35 per cent of the area; and the interior hilly region ranging from 300 to 1,200 meter in height and covering 43 per cent of the remaining area.

There are Two major Rivers in Goa:-

  • Mandovi River
  • Zurai River

Goa has the total of Two Districts:-
