About Jharkhand:-

Jharkhand means “The Land of Jungle” and it also the state where “Pittsburgh of India” is situated “Jamshedpur.” Jharkhand was formed on 15th November,2000 by separating Southern Part of Bihar.  It is 14th largest State in terms of population with total population of 3,29,88,134 with Rural Populations of 2,50,54,488 and the Urban Populations of 79,33,646. Jharkhand has the Male Population of 1,69,30,315 and Female Population of 1,60,57,819 with the Sex Ratio of 948 Females per 1000 Males. Jharkhand was divided inti 5 Administrative Divisions and 24 Districts (DATA ACCORDING TO CENSUS 2011).

Geography Of Jharkhand:-

Jharkhand is state located in the Eastern Part of India and it also has the largest Coal reserve in India with total of 83.15 billion tonnes with the coal capital of India “Dhanbad.” Jharkhand is 15th largest State in terms of land area with total land of 79,720 Sq. km. Most of the state lies on the Chota Nagpur Plateau, which is the source of the Koel, Damodar, Brahmani, Kharkai, and Subarnarekha rivers, whose upper watersheds lie within Jharkhand. Much of the state is still covered by forest. Forest preserves support populations of tigers and Asian Elephants. Soil content of Jharkhand state mainly consist of soil formed from disintegration of rocks and stones, and soil composition is further divided into: Red soil, found mostly in the Damodar valley, and Rajmahal area Micacious soil (containing particles of mica), found in Koderma, Jhumri Telaiya, Barkagaon, and areas around the Mandar hil Sandy soil, generally found in Hazaribagh and Dhanbad Black soil, found in Rajmahal area Laterite soil, found in western part of Ranchi, Palamu, and parts of Santhal Parganas and Singhbhum.
