About Tamil Nadu:-

Tamil Nadu, also known as “Land of Temples” with many temples such as “Ramanathaswamy Temple” which is one of the Twelve “Jyotirlingas” and is also one of the pilgrim centre of “Char Dhams” and it has the “World’s Longest corridor” with 1000 intricately carved pillars. Tamil Nadu was formed on 1st  November,1956, when India passed state Reorganization Act,1956. It is 7th largest state in India in terms of population with the total population of 7,21,47,030. The state has the Rural population of 3,72,27,867 and the Urban population of 3,49,19,163 with the total Density of 555 per Sq. km. The state has the Male population of 3,61,37,975 and the Female population of 3,60,09,055 with the Sex Ratio of 996 Females per 1000 Males. Tamil Nadu has total of 38 Districts with the Literacy Rate of 80.09%. (DATA ACCORDING TO CENSUS 2011)

Geography of Tamil Nadu:-

Tamil Nadu, is located in South India with “Vivekanda Rock Memorial” which is southmost tip of mainland India in Kanyakumari and some attraction of the states are the “Kurinji Flowers” which blooms once after every after 12 years, it last happens in 2018. The capital of Tamil Nadu “Chennai” also known as “Detroit of Asia” with its vehicle production.

This is 10th Largest state in India in terms of Land area with the total area 1,30,058 Sq. km. It shares its border with many states like Kerala, Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh and the Union Territiries of Puducherry. It also has the huge coastline of 1,076 km which is second largest in India which is also known as “Coromandel Coast.” The state has the average elevation of 253 metres with -4 metres it lowest and 2,623 metres its highest point. Doddabetta is highest peak in Tamil Nadu with the height of 2,623 metres.
